You Matter To Us Foundation (YMTUF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to upholding the rights and ending the exclusion of the disadvantaged and children living with disabilities from the society.

It is crucial to attend to the mental health of children living with disability, We are all about making the lives of special Kids colourful.

Our Story

The foundation evolved from the annual charity project hitherto undertaken by Ideas and Smiles Concepts up till 2019. The Foundation started because of the level of neglect daily experienced by the disadvantaged and special need children in Nigeria, where children with disabilities are one and still the most marginalized as well as excluded group in the society.

Through our many interventions we have been able to create exciting and long-lasting programs, also activities that has continue to ensure that the vision of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG- “leave no one behind”) is a reality for the disadvantaged child and children living with disabilities in Nigeria. These we have achieved in partnership with different brands and Lagos State Government/Ministry of Education centering on our belief in the ability of every child and their potential to rise above their challenges to become important and useful members of the society.

Our Impact

: Since Inception, the You Matter To Us Foundation has impacted over 36,000 disadvantaged children visited over 64 schools for children living with disability and orphanages consecutively for seven years in the thirty-seven local government areas in Lagos State.
Through our Safe Period outreach, we have provided information on menstrual hygiene management to 197 girls, gave out 517 pack of sanitary pads, placed our menstrual aid boxes in 40 special and inclusive primary schools in Lagos state. We also taught 110 girls in low income community how to make reusable pads providing them with the necessary kits.
